Personnel working in a technical environment where there is a need for skills in geology or
reservoir technology. For example data personnel, technical illustrators, technical assistants,
and other support staff within drilling, well service, reservoir engineering or oil and gas
production. We recommend this course for personnel especially interested in a career within
petroleum related activities.

About this course
After completing this course the students should be able to summarise the earth’s geological
history and describe the relationship between petroleum resources and geology. Furthermore
they should be able to describe the stress conditions in formations from different reservoirs, and
describe the equipment and methods used for testing wells and delineating the extent of
reservoirs.
Introduction courses or relevant professional background.
This web based course is in accordance with the guidelines from The Norwegian Oil Industry
Association and covers the official Norwegian syllabus for Technical College, Petroleum
Technology Faculty. The course is equivalent to 75 hours of ordinary tuition in this subject.
