Suitable for: Candidates wo require a greater understanding of the regulations and how they affect the electrical work being carried out, to make sure work is up to the correct BS7671 standards.

About this course
Candidates should be working in the industry and have some relative understanding of installation work.
Candidates must have achieved the 16th Ed. certificate after 2001in order to register for the shorter upgrade exam, or alternatively, take the full exam.

Course programme
The 17th Edition of the Regulations came into effect in July 2008. This course is designed to help learners to find the information required within the regulations and develop a good understanding of each part.
Course Content:
- The structure of the Regulations
- Identifying the different parts and how they relate to the work being carried out by electricians
- Protection; the use of fuses; mcb's & rcd's to protect against electric shock
- requirements of the regulations concerning bonding & earth connections within an installation
EXAM STRUCTURE: 30 questions (1 hour) on-line, open book
EXAM DATES: November: 3rd, 4th December 8th, 9th
