17th Edition Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2008
The course will run for three days consecutively. It will take place at our training centre in Chesterfield. There will be three sessions starting at 9:00 am and finishing at 5:00 pm. The two hour GOLA Assessment will take place after completion of the third session. Disabled access, free parking and refreshment facilities will be made available to all students.
The course is intended for those wishing to gain the City & Guilds level 3 certificate in The Requirements For Electrical Installations (BS 7671-2008) (2382-10). There are no formal entry requirements for the course. The course is available to all students regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or previous experience.
To ensure that all learning styles are catered for during the course a variety of teaching methods will be employed in addition to the formal lecture. Teaching methods will include Question & Answer sessions, Group Discussion, Hand-outs and Practice exercises. This will build towards an effective and enjoyable learning experience for all the students.
All resources needed for the course will be provided. This includes a copy of the Requirements for Electrical Installations – IEE Wiring Regulations Seventeenth Edition (BS 7671-2008).
Successful completion of the two hour GOLA assessment will result in the award of the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations.
AIMS (of the course):-
To ensure students have a sound working knowledge of the contents of the current edition of the wiring regulations, the IEE Wiring Regulations Seventeenth Edition (BS 7671:2008). To enable students to use BS 7671:2008 as a reference source and apply its requirements to relevant situations. To provide recognised certification (C&G level 3 certificate) in the Requirements for Electrical Installations.
Objectives (of the course):-
By the end of the course students should:
Be aware of the layout of BS 7671:2008. Be aware of the contents of BS 7671:2008. Be able to identify and locate required parts of BS 7671. Be able to extract information from BS 7671 relevant to particular installations. Be able to apply information to particular situations.
Be in a position to undertake the 2 hour GOLA assessment
