John is a registered Osteopath, Sports & Remedial therapist and a lecturer in Sports Medicine / Athletic Performance for the University of Oxford. He delivers specific courses in strapping and taping techniques, advanced joint assessment and lower limb biomechanics. He specialises in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports related injuries for the University of Oxford's prestigious sports teams (notably the Boat Club Men's heavyweight rowing team).
Course programme
This workshop is designed for professional practitioners and therapists, particularly those specialising in sports and remedial massage, who wish to advance their skills and understanding of soft tissue and neurological-based assessment and treatment.
The first day of the course will focus on advanced soft tissue palpation and assessment, mobilisation techniques and the treatment of specific injuries such as achilles tendinopathy and lateral epycondilitis
The second day covers the anatomy of neurological testing, the pathology of a prolapsed disc and a focus on specific area assessment including the brachial plexus C5-T1 and peripheral nerve testing of the axillary, median, radial and ulna nerves
