This course will help you develop multiple skills and knowledge of materials and processes relevant to the Model Making Industry, whether for film/TV props, miniatures, prototyping, engineering, architecture, or exhibition models.As part of the course, previous students have had the opportunity to work with live clients throughout the UK and Europe and have made industry visits to London, Liverpool, Manchester, Barcelona and beyond.

Course programme

  • NC Model Making, or a NC in a related discipline, OR

  • One Higher from Art, Craft and Design, Product Design or Graphic Communication and English at minimum Intermediate 2, OR

  • One Higher from Art, Craft and Design, Product Design or Graphic Communication and English at National 5 level, OR

  • Related work experience.

You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview, where you'll get the opportunity to find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in the subject. At the interview you're asked to bring your best examples of both 2D and 3D art and design work, in original, photographic or portfolio form.
