Geometric floor tiles are part of Britain’s heritage and were originally used to decorate medieval churches and monasteries and the homes of the aristocracy. Today Victorian tiles are extremely fashionable in all types of homes particularly in hallways and conservatories. There is a high demand for specialist Victorian tilers. Victorian tiles are made up of geometric shapes interlocking together to create fantastic looking floors, this therefore requires special training in order to re-create the stunning effects of the nineteenth century. The skill we teach is the intricate setting out and laying to fit these floors into the space available – on average 250 individual pieces are required per square metre.
