Details:
7304 is the required qualification for learners wishing to teach on public funded and/or FE courses within an Associate Teacher role. This is the next step up from 7303 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector and provides progression to the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (7305).
Qualification structure
The Certificate comprises three units. The full qualification must total a minimum of 24 credits.
The units are:
- Planning and enabling learning
- Principles and practice of assessment
- Equality and diversity
How long is the course?
To complete 7304 you would need to attend one of our three day Induction Courses. This would be followed by a series of one day Workshops. In order to make the programme as flexible as possible delegates can attend these workshops in any order - delegates will be encouraged to work at their own pace - some people may need to attend more workshops than others depending on the amount of support they need - on average people attend four workshops in order to complete the course.

What are the entry requirements?
Candidates for this course must have completed 7303 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector. In addition candidates will need to complete a Level 2 assessment of their Literacy and Numeracy – unless they have O Level (or equivalent passes) in the subject (s). This is arranged and conducted in-house by Aid Training. Candidates for this course should have a good standard of verbal communications skills. Candidates will also be required to have access to, and undertake 30 hours of teaching practice, with a minimum of three hours of observation by the course tutor, or nominated observer.
