Methods of Teaching
Business Studies covers several diverse topic areas, and consequently you will learn to develop and apply a wide range of skills. Many problems in the business world are solved using numerical analysis, so you will study different statistical and mathematical techniques, particularly in the accounting part of the course. You will need to be able to express yourself fluently and clearly in response to data response questions and case study material. Students develop their skills in class through group work, class discussion of stimulus material, individual work on case studies/ data response, videos and role plays are used where appropriate. Students are also encouraged to extend their learning through watching appropriate television programmes, and using CD-roms as well as relevant business internet sites.

Career Possibilities
Business Studies is worth pursuing for its own sake, but it is a useful qualification for those hoping to go directly into employment or aiming to go on to higher education. Employers like students who have studied business as it makes them more immediately employable. In addition, many quite unrelated degree subjects have a business studies module, so studying Business and can be extremely useful whatever degree students might eventually follow.
