Course structure:
Biology has the attraction of being both a numerate, scientific discipline as well as one in which moral, ethical and social questions may be addressed. The subject provides an opportunity to gain practical skills, presentational skills, mathematical competence and the ability to work successfully as part of a team. Biology has been described as the science of the Twenty-first century. Issues such as health matters, food supply and environmental concern affect us all. Success in biology gives access to a wide range of biological, agricultural and biomedical degree programmes. The subject is also valued for its breadth and relevance in the work place.

Progression opportunities:
Human Biology A level leads to degree qualifications in many areas including Biomedical Science, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Radiography. For the majority of these courses Biology is equally acceptable.
