Communication and Culture is a new A Level introduced by AQA to replace Communication Studies. It is designed to encourage students to:

· Recognise the importance of the relationship between theories, research and practices related to communication and culture
· Think about how everyday life experiences work
· Gain insight into ourselves and our role in society
· Understanding important power relationships that exist all around us
· Relate studies to particular needs, interests and circumstances
· Understand how tolerance and diversity in culture are important
· Develop key transferable study and research skills in a wide range of areas
Communication & Culture is an interdisciplinary subject. That is, we take little bits of theory from other areas such as Sociology, Media Studies, Psychology, History, Urbanism and Critical Thinking (to name but a few) and focus them on issues that are important to us and the world in which we live.

· Develop key transferable skills in a wide range of areas
