Who is this course for?
Those who wish to follow an advanced study of history as a move towards further academic study or anyone interested in studying for pleasure the social, economic and political history of Wales and England between 1815 - 1914 and Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945.

What will I learn?
During the first part of the course you will study popular protest in Wales and England between 1815 and 1868. Areas covered include Chartism, the Rebecca and Merthyr Riots and the demand for electoral reform. You will also study the background to the appointment of Hitler as Chancellor of Germany and the Nazi consolidation of power between 1933 and 1934.The second part of the course will concern itself with the continuing demands for electoral reform up to 1914, the development of the Labour Party and women's demands for the vote. In terms of Nazi Germany, we will look at the Czechoslovakian crisis of 1938, which led to World War Two, and opposition to the Nazis between 1933 and 1945.

Assessment
AS level - you will be required to sit three short written examinations. A2 level - you will be required to sit three written examinations.

On Completion Achievement / Progression
'A' levels are required by many employers today. Attainment of 'A' levels demonstrates an ability to digest, analyse, evaluate and present information in a mature and capable fashion. AS level is needed to proceed to A2 level.
