About this course

You will need to have taken at least
seven subjects at GCSE and
passed English at C, and achieved
a minimum point score of 5 as well
as GCSE Art.at C or above
OR
· Level 2 Diploma (e.g. BTEC First
Diploma) at Distinction and either
GCSE English grade C or Key Skills
Communication at Level 2
· A portfolio will also be required
· Interview and Reference

A Level Art & Design - 3D Design
Course Details
This course would suit anyone wanting to pursue a practical and
creative subject. Students should have an enthusiasm for
research, problem solving, designing and making through 2-D and 3-D practical activities. There will be an emphasis on both Craft and Design options.

What will I study?
The course covers critical and contextual work of artists,
designers and craftspeople.

Practical work will be in areas such as jewellery making, product design and spatial design.

Students will be able to build on your experiences of working with the 2-D and 3-D visual language through research drawing and experimentation with materials, tools and techniques.

Entry Requirements:
Progression/Careers: UCAS points are gained according to your level of achievement.
You may progress onto University Degrees or HNDs.

However, for students who wish to specialise in Art and Design
subjects at University it is more usual to follow a Foundation course designed to prepare students for degree level work.

Costs/Equipment: Studio Fee: £15, plus materials for personal use and college trips
