Course Content: In your AS Level year you will study a range of topics including: Detailed Atomic structure; Chemical Bonding; The Mole Concept; Introduction to Organic Chemistry; Kinetics; and Chemical Equilibria.

In the A2 year you will move on to more advanced topics such as: Kinetics; Equilibrium Organic Chemistry; Spectroscopy; Transition Metals; Entropy.

Also, in the second year you will go on visits to Astra Zeneca; University visits and the Young Analyst Competition.

Course Format: You will learn through taught lessons including question and answer sessions, presentations, discussions alongside completing workbooks and written tasks.

Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning by; regular revision sessions, attending workshops and revision sessions and by reading around the subject.

Progression: Students need a C grade in Core Science and a C grade at Additional Science. To progress on to the A2 year, students must achieve at least a D grade at AS Level.
