Learn the rights, responsibilities and privileges of British citizenship

Would you like to be a citizen? This A Level Citizenship Studies Course is ideal for anyone wishing to gain knowledge and understanding of what is means to be a British citizen.

What is a citizen and are all citizens equal? What are the rights and responsibilities that attach to citizenship? What exactly does it mean to be British?

This course will cover all of these questions and will give students a better idea of what it means to be a citizen in the UK. It will also cover democracy and active citizenship- basically, what you as an individual can do for your society.

On the topic of government, students will learn about crime and justice and what their rights are under the law, as well as who defends their rights. The role of the government will be explained and examined. Students will learn valuable information about how to protect these rights.

In terms of global citizenship, the last unit of this course will consist of discussing what it means to also be a global citizen. Students will learn about universal human rights and will learn what they can do to make a difference, be it helping the environment by learning about how to live more sustainably or how to be of service to other people in the community.

This course is, in general, an excellent way for students to learn the rights. responsibilities and privileges of being a British citizen.
