Geography is a course for students who have broad interests and a genuine concern for the environment.
This modern and engaging course is designed to address key ideas and debates in our world today, such as climate change, globalization, urban regeneration and management of the world's resources. Students will explore a range of issues and examine potential solutions to them. Through studying the news, you will gain understanding of the impact of natural hazards. Work outside the classroom is an integral part of Geography and there will be a residential field visit to Dorset and various day trips.
Qualification explained
A-Level courses are divided into two parts. In the first year you will study two units of a subject leading to an AS (Advanced Subsidiary) qualification. In the second year, you can take a further two units at A2 in the same subject to gain a full A Level. (In some subjects, the courses are divided into 3 rather than 2 units at AS and A2.)
