Qualification: AS/A Level EDEXCEL 8ELO1, 9ELO1

Duration: 1 / 2 years
In the first year, you will explore different voices in speech and writing such as analysing the script of a family in conversation, a Weblog and a narrator in one contemporary novel. In the second year you will study two paired texts linked by a theme such as War, Love and Loss or Family relationships. Classes will also cover non-fiction extracts such as letters, autobiographies, reality TV transcripts, and also news articles to analyse. Finally you will undertake investigative coursework based on poetry, prose or drama and you may include a creative response.

Qualification explained
A-Level courses are divided into two parts. In the first year you will study two units of a subject leading to an AS (Advanced Subsidiary) qualification. In the second year, you can take a further two units at A2 in the same subject to gain a full A Level. (In some subjects, the courses are divided into 3 rather than 2 units at AS and A2.)
