Our home study A-level English literature course will give you a wide appreciation of some of the greatest literature, both poetry and prose, ever written. The course will provide you with the ability to write clearly and effectively and to analyse complex texts in different forms and styles. Designed to to help you achieve the best possible grade in your examination.
This Literature A-Level course encourages students to understand how narrative works, to look at genre and to learn about critical approaches to texts. Encouraging wide and independent reading, the course also considers different types of critical approach and how texts can reflect different period and cultural meanings. You will learn skills of effective and appropriate communication including the ability to discuss the critical context of texts.

About this course
On this course you will:
Engage creatively and critically with a wide range of poetry, prose and drama texts.
Deepen your knowledge and awareness of literary techniques and traditions should be significantly improved.
Have gained a sophisticated understanding of the relationship between literary texts and their contexts in the wider world.
Will develop the ability to analyse literary texts and communicate complex literary arguments using appropriate technical terminology.
Upon successful completion of this home learning course you will receive an A-Level qualification. Both AS and A2 level courses and examinations must be successfully completed to gain the full A level. This syllabus has been chosen specifically because it is the best suited to distance learning.
This A-level builds on the course content of GCSE, although it is not necessary to have this qualification before undertaking this A-level.
