What will I do on this course?
This course examines a range of issues of environmental importance
developing the scientific knowledge and skills associated with the
environment and how it works.
At AS you will study:
· Reasons why conservation of life on earth is important and exploration of the methods used to achieve effective conservation
· Human impact on climate, water supply and mineral reserves.
At A2 you will study:
· The problems involved in supplying our future energy needs
· How to manage the damage caused by pollution
· Food supply, forestry and the sustainable use of the planet†s life
support systems.
Visits, field and laboratory work form part of this course and you will
develop your skills in scientific and analytical thinking.
How will I be assessed?
The four written exams consist of short answer questions, structured
comprehension and data analysis questions and extended prose and essays.
