In this course you will increase your understanding of French grammatical structures and widen your vocabulary by studying topics like the environment, problems of immigration and drugs. Emphasis will be placed on raising your written and spoken French to a level at which you will be able to communicate effectively in many situations.

Method of assessment
30% of your AS Level grade is from oral exams, and the rest of your marks are gained in an exam which tests your comprehension, and includes a listening test. The A2 exam also consists of an oral (30%) plus reading and listening comprehension. In addition at A2 there is an essay component which tests your writing skill and your knowledge of French culture and society.

You will have the chance to improve your oral skills in individual sessions with a native speaker of the language. All students have access to French satellite television and you will also have the chance to participate in a trip to France.
