Geology introduces students to the process which create the wonderful variety of rock formations on earth – including mountains, continents and the ocean floor. You will also study how rocks preserve evidence of life from millions of years ago and consider the destructive power of natural forces such as earthquakes.

Unit 2: Rocks – Processes and Products Here you will get a thorough understanding of the process by which the three main groups of rock: igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic, are created.
Unit 3: Coursework This practical module involves a fieldwork study putting your theory knowledge into practice.
A2 Year Content Environmental Geology Unit 1: Environmental Geology You will study how rocks play an important role in the water supply and consider how humans are able to extract useful materials from rocks. Unit 2: Evolution of Life, Earth and Climate
