History of Art is a subject that by its nature requires students to condsider aesthetic, formal, ethical, socio-political, cultural and contemporary issues within the field of art, architecture and sculpture. The syllabus introduces students to the diverse range of aesthetic art forms and styles developed within a world context throughout the history of creative arts. This course will enable you to gain a thorough knowledge of the arts within cultural, social context by exploring issues of gender alongside patronage whilst simultaneously deepening your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of art, architecture and sculpture.
