This course enables you to study the structure and operation of certain major aspects of the English legal system and selected areas of substantive law, and to develop skills associated with an understanding of the law and its operation in society. Suitable for: Students who wish to pursue a career in Law.

About this course
Most of our A Levels have special entry requirements. In general Oxford Open Learning will admit students for A Level who have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C and above. These would ideally include English and Maths. For Law "A" level we strongly recommend a high level of English.

This course prepares candidates for the AQA Law AS level syllabus 1161, for examination in 2009 and later years. Most candidates will then study the A2 syllabus 2161.The full A Level qualification comprises AS and A2. We have chosen this syllabus as it is the most suited to distance learning.
Assessment is by 4 written papers.
