Course programme
once during the programme you are bound to ask yourself the question: “Why have we developed like this? Poverty, ignorance, crime, injustice … shouldn’t we have left them in the Stone Age?”
You can combine this subject with other AS/A Levels or with a vocational BTEC qualification.
You will achieve the AQA AS Level in Sociology at the end of year 1. Successful completion of year 2 will lead to the full A Level in Sociology.
In the first year you will sit two papers, one of each of the learning groups you
have studied. The paper on the first group lasts one hour and accounts for 40% of your marks for the year. The paper on the second group lasts two hours and accounts for 60% of your marks for the year.
It is almost the same in year two, but this time the group one paper last 90 minutes and the group two paper lasts two hours. The marks, as in year one, are 40% and 60% respectively of your total marks for the year.
