What will I do on this course?
A Level Textiles covers design within clothing, theatre, architectural fabrics, jewellery, accessories, surface decoration and structure of fabrics. Innovative materials such as wire and plastics creating exciting colour and pattern through printing and weaving are part of the experience. Visits to textile museums and designer studios will enrich your programme and increase your understanding of the history and illustration of fashion and textiles. Expect to undertake a significant element of work in your own time during this A Level.

How will I be assessed?
A combination of coursework and examinations.

At least 5 GCSEs in the A*-C range to include Textiles or Art, English Language and Mathematics.

Progression
A Level Textiles is a first step to a career in the fashion industry where illustration, design, styling and conservation are all possible future pathways. The next step could be to undertake the Fast-track Post A Level Art Foundation course at Weston College and then progress to university or to a Foundation Degree with a top-up Degree year.
