The AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is the intermediate level of the AAT Accounting Qualification. This course offers technical training in accounting and its main purpose is to provide you with the specialist knowledge you need to gain employment in an accounting role and to progress further in an accountancy or financial role.
If you take this distance learning AAT Level 3 Diploma course, you will understand the more complex financial processes, including final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, reports and returns and professional ethics.

How is the course structured?The AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is divided into six comprehensive modules:
Accounts preparation
- Understanding accepted principles of accounting and double-entry bookkeeping
- Understanding accounting methods of recording non-current assets.
- Accounting for purchase of non-current assets
- Accounting for depreciation and adjustments
- Accounting for disposal of non-current assets
- Preparing and extending the trial balance
- Preparing and extending the trial balance
Prepare final accounts for sole traders and partnerships
- Understanding the process involved in preparing final accounts
- Preparing accounting records from incomplete information
- Producing final accounts for sole traders
- Understanding partnerships legislative and accounting requirements
- Preparing a statement of profit or loss appropriation account
- Preparing a financial position statement relating to a partnership.

COURSE ASSESSMENT
There are two main types of computer based assessment (CBA):
- Computer based tests (CBT) marked by AAT at a registered testing centre. Level 2 and 3 provisional results are available on the assessment day.
- Computer based projects (CBP) marked by eDistance Learning. Results are available after you project has been assessed and internally verified by us.
You will need to pay the registered testing centre a fee for your exams which is £38.00
When you enrol on the course you will need to register as a member of AAT and the current cost is £39.00 and this is a one-off fee.
You will also need to pay an annual membership fee of £84.00 and this can be paid by Direct Debit in instalments if preferred.

You can also opt for our Easy Payment Plan and enrol online today by paying a deposit of £212.5and then 4 equal payments of £212.5 per month. The first instalment is paid about a month after you receive your course.
Please Note: Students need to pay £161 to the AAT for exams and membership.
