AAT Intermediate NVQ Level 3

Level: This is an NVQ Level 3 course.

What is the AAT Intermediate course?
The AAT Intermediate course is the natural progression for those students who have completed the AAT Foundation. However, AAT will also take into consideration work experience or other qualifications compatible with Level 2.

The AAT Intermediate course will enable you to construct, close and transfer a variety of account balances; produce final accounts for a variety of sole traders and partnerships; differentiate between different types of costs, allocate accordingly, and understand the basic rules of VAT.

NB An interview and aptitude test is required before you can enrol on this course.

Course topics
Units include:
  • Maintaining financial records and preparing accounts
  • Recording cost information
  • Preparing reports and returns
  • Understanding information technology
  • Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure workplace
Teaching and Learning
You will receive six hours of classroom tuition a week and undertake a variety of practical exercises.

You will be expected to put aside at least five to six hours a week for personal study.

Assessment details
Currently students take two external assessments in mid-June on a date set by AAT and another three classroom assessments towards the end of their study year.

Progression
AAT Technician NVQ Level 4.

NB The College will be closed on Monday 23 February & 8 June 2009

This is a Learning & Skills Council (LSC) funded course and you may be exempt from the tuition fee, however you would be required to pay the registration fee at the time of application.

If you do not already have a level 3 qualification (ie NVQ at Level 3 or 2 A-Levels) you may qualify for free tuition and registration fees on this course.

Tuition fees for overseas students may vary from those quoted.

Extra costs : AAT membership £66, books approximately £50, calculator, writing materials, paper and A4 file.
