Introduction:
The AAT qualification provides delegates with the knowledge and skills needed to work in an accounting environment, and is the ideal qualification for anyone wanting to work as an accounting technician. The requirements of this course are based on nationally agreed standards of competence. The education and training scheme is designed to provide the maximum flexibility to suit delegates from a wide range of circumstances and with diverse backgrounds.

Study Mode & Location:
The duration of this course is 1-2 years, with a range of start times available. The course is delivered at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincents Road, Preston, PR2 8UR. With arrangement this course can be delivered in the workplace.

Course Content:
The units you will study are as follows: -

- Recording income and receipts

- Making and recording payments

- Preparing ledger balances and an initial trial balance

- Supplying information for management control

- Working with computers

- Contribute to the maintenance of a healthy, safe and productive environment

- Achieving personal effectiveness

You will be assessed via an examination and a portfolio of evidence containing written assessments, skills tests, and possibly work place evidence.

(Please note that this course can be completed without work based evidence).

Assessment:
Assessment will include an examination.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
The NVQ Level 2 provides a platform to progress on to the NVQ Levels 3 and 4 in Accounting.

How To Apply
You may need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser before enrolling on this course.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
