Level: This is an NVQ Level 4 course.

What is the AAT Technician course?
The AAT Technician course is the final stage of the AAT qualification and entry is dependent on successful completion of the AAT Intermediate course. This course will enable you to prepare statutory company accounts, prepare budgets and other management information and prepare tax computations.

NB An interview is required before you can enrol on this course .

Course topics
Units include:
  • Drafting financial statements (accountancy practice, industry and commerce)
  • Contributing to the management of performance and the enhancement of value
  • Contributing to the planning and control of resources
  • Managing systems and people in the accounting environment
Teaching and Learning
You will receive six hours of classroom tuition per week and undertake a variety of practical exercises.

Assessment details
External examinations are set in December and June and one unit is a project which is completed over the duration of the course and assessed internally.

Progression
AAT Technician course can lead to entry to other professional qualifications such as ACA, CIMA and ACCA.

Notes
This is a Learning & Skills Council (LSC) funded course and you may be exempt from the tuition fee, however you would be required to pay the registration fee at the time of application. Tuition fees for overseas students may vary from those quoted.

Extra costs : AAT membership fee £74 per year, compulsory textbooks and workbook £140,calculator, writing materials, paper and A4 file.
