The next level course is the (ABC 165) Welding and Fabrication at Level 3
Students must hold an ABC Welding and Fabrication A Level 1 Certificate or similar qualification in welding with a commitment to this area of work and the potential to satisfactorily complete the course.

Course programme
The course consists of:
- Manual Metal Arc Welding, Metal Arc Gas-Shielded Welding (MIG)
- Fabrication Processes (Sheet Metal).
The scheme is modular, each unit standing alone emphasising practical skills with the complementary written paper testing relevant knowledge. A full certificate is awarded to candidates who successfully complete all units. Certificates are countersigned by the Welding Institute who partner the scheme.
