In a nutshell: Advanced massage techniques and more anatomy and physiology related to the abdomen.

Abdominal-Sacral Massage is a fantastic way to address specific conditions involving our alimentary and reproductive organs. Within the bony pelvis, organs are supported and allowed to move by the muscles and ligaments that surround them. Muscles and ligaments that are over-contracted can cause pain and pull bones and organs out of place. Often, these displacements are subtle and only apparent to an experienced practitioner. Part of a treatment involves the assessment of pelvic organs in order to determine likely causes of presenting signs and symptoms such as heavy/painful menstrual bleeding, PMS, lower backache, constipation and frequent micturition.

How long is the course?

The course is 6 days in total.

Qualified massage practitioners.

What will I learn?

Days 1 and 2
• uterine pathologies;
• a better understanding of the monthly cycle;
• the main hormones which affect the cycle;
• the pathologies that can occur when hormones are not in balance (i.e. fibroids, endometriosis, heavy bleeding); and
• fertility problems.

Days 3-5
• how to safely perform the abdominal-sacral massage on yourself and your clients;
• a better understanding of where the abdominal organs are;
• how to powerfully integrate deep tissue and visceral techniques along with acupressure and reflexology to facilitate successful and productive bodywork treatment for women; and
• how to perform sacral massage to aid hip alignment.

Day 6
Once 16 case studies (4 clients x 4 times) are successfully completed, you will return for a review day - focussing on refinement of practical techniques and a practical assessment.

On successful completion of all 6 course days and all course requirements, a practitioner's certificate will be awarded to qualify you in women's bodywork and you will be able to work effectively as part of a growing team providing supportive treatment for women through every phase of their lives.
