Very special offer for those on who earn £13,000 (gross) or less. You are eligible for this discount if you can provide proof of income (email a scan or post a photocopy of latest payslip or contract stating your salary) and make payment for course by Friday 7th August (non-refundable due to special offer).

We have 2 bursary places available. There is strict eligibility for this; if you live in Yorkshire and you are unemployed, not in education and receiving benefits you will be eligible. There will be a lot of demand for these 2 places so for those who can provide proof of their address and their situation by Friday 7th August (a recent letter stating benefit amount from incapacity benefit, income support, Job Centre Plus) we will be putting all names in a hat on Saturday 8th August (to keep it fair) and 2 names will be chosen and informed on Monday 10th August. Please only apply if you are definitely available for the places on the dates stated above. Failure to show if offered a place will result in a £50 recovery fee.

Facilities and Expertise:

Ableton Live 8, Apple MacBook laptops, midi keyboards and various controllers and effects such as Tenori-On and Kaoss Pad. Future Arts is an Ableton Certified Centre and the trainer is Paula Temple, a Certified Ableton Live Trainer who has been composing and DJing with Ableton Live for 9 years.

What's covered (brief outline - detailed specification pdf available):

Day 1 - Performing and Remixing; particularly going in to depth with audio, warp marking and tips for using Live for performance

Day 2 - Composing and Production; particularly going in to depth with midi and studio production techniques with Live

Suitable For:

All producers, composers, DJs, live performers, either experienced in music technology or just starting, who are interested in harnessing the power of Ableton Live, or for those who have bought Ableton Live already. This course is ideal for those wanting to be shown how to get straight in to using the best features of this innovative program very quickly.

Minimum requirement for the course:

You will need to be familiar with using computers and have some basic undertsanding of music composition (such as bars and beats). We will be using Apple Mac computers - you'll be fine if you have never used Apple Macs before but let us know when you book so we can give you a mini introduction 20 minutes before we begin the course on day 1.
