Able Skills aims to make training accessible to every one. If you have work or other weekly commitments you can still learn to plaster by attending our Intensive plastering course over two consecutive weekends. The course content differs slightly and you will cover:
Intensive Plastering Weekend Training:
To cut and fix angle beads around windows and reveals. To prepare surfaces before plastering using bonding plaster and finishing plaster, ensuring a flat finished surface ready for decorating.
To mix plastering materials.
To plaster walls.
To plaster ceilings
To apply PVA adhesive Unibond to existing surfaces
Once you have completed the Intensive course, either at the weekend or over 5 days, you can also cover our Advanced plastering course at weekends:

Cutting and setting beads
Applying PVA adhesive Unibond to existing surfaces
Skimming walls
Skimming ceilings
Plastering reveals – internal and external
Repairing damaged plaster

Should you wish to further your education in plastering; Able Skills can offer you a City & Guilds or CAA ICA plastering qualification. Please visit our City & Guilds or CAA ICA page for full details of these courses, content and payment plans.
Weekend training for these qualifications is also available for the majority of the qualification course, you can use 8 weekends for training and assessment before attending for 2 block periods of 7 days to cover the larger assessments.
This is a hands-on, practical course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout the course. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety, steel capped footwear is essential. All tools and materials will be provided throughout your training period.
At the end of your plastering course you will receive an Able Skills Certificate of completion and you can also have a portfolio and photographs of the stages of the work you have carried out during the period you have trained with us; this may assist you in gaining employment at a later stage.
Once you have completed training with Able Skills we can offer you after course support and advice on any plastering projects you are undertaking.
Additionally, we can provide you with a Business start up pack containing useful information and guidance on printing (business cards), opening a business bank account, public liability insurance and website design.
