About this course

Students will normally be expected to have attained a CEFR level of A2 before they start the course. As this course is intended for people wishing to study at British universities, students are expected to be 17 years or older when they start.

Course programme

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

Learners will have the opportunity to carry out authentic study tasks such as research, essay writing and making presentations.

Course Content

  • Work to develop the core skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing
  • IELTS exam preparation
  • Academic English - developing necessary competence in:

o Academic writing
o Conversation skills
o Listening
o Reading for successful study in a UK university or college.
o Presentation and seminar skills.

  • Lessons incorporate English for specific purposes such as English for Business, Accountancy, Finance, Tourism, Marketing and more, depending on the needs of the learners.

Timetable: 25 hours per week + 2,5 hours self-study

  • 09:15 – 10:45 - Listening and speaking skills
  • 10:45 – 11:00 - Morning break
  • 11:00 – 12:30 - Reading and writing skills
  • 12:30 – 13:00 - Lunch break
  • 13:00 – 15:00 - Academic English, Exam preparation (Monday - Thursday only)

The EAP course runs for a full academic year - 3 terms of 12 weeks each. We advise students to take the whole course.
