Academy - Performance Golf: Site Broomfield Hall

Course Content: The course includes: A dedicated three-day-per-week training calendar Opportunities to progress to elite level pathways Access to an extensive range of regional and national tournaments A comprehensive competitions programme Technical and tactical coaching Psychological, physiological and lifestyle management Strength and conditioning support All learners will study a full-time Sport qualification alongside the Golf Academy requirements. How will I be assessed? Learners will build a portfolio based around evidence generated by the various assessment methods in each unit. They can expect to be assessed through: practical demonstration logbooks and performance records written reports and essays presentations workbooks discussions and vivas Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? Learners need to purchase a Derby College kit. The cost of this will be finalised at the start of the course but is expected to be in the region of £70 and will include yearly gym membership and the end-of-year celebration event. This money should be received before November. There may be additional costs incurred for selected trips or tournaments. Learners are expected to have their own clubs available throughout the year. As part of the fees, players will receive a Performance Golf kit package. The College offers residential accommodation if required. What can I do after this course? On successful completion of the course, learners can apply for a higher level of study at Derby College such as the: Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching Alternatively they may wish to seek employment within the sports and active leisure sector.
