About this course

Any one aged 21 or over can be registered with the ACCA as a mature student (MSER) and is allowed only to take paper 1.1 and 1.2 in the next relevant sitting.

In order to qualify for the professional examination route (PER), following entry requirements are applicable:

At least 2 A-level passes

CAT level B or AAT (U.K) intermediate

BTEC National certificate, Advanced GNVQ

NVQ level 3-4

Degree from a recognised institution

After the successful completion of ACCA Fundamental Level, there is an option to transfer to the university of Oxford Brooks degree program. The institute will award an honour’s degree in accounting and finance based on the following:

6500 words essay on related accounting/business issues

1500-2000 words essay on communication skills

Course duration

ACCA is essentially a three-year course, however keeping in view the professional nature of the examinations it may take the candidate up to 3-4 years in order to complete the course successfully.

Practical implications

ACCA is a professional qualification recognized world- wide. The Global market as well as the U.K market has been extremely buoyant for the qualified accountants in recent times. After the successful completion of the course the students are likely to face with attractive job prospects both in industry and in practice.

After the successful completion of the ACCA course the candidates will need a minimum of three years working experience in the relevant field. This will enable them to operate as registered auditors and practicing accountants. The list of relevant working experience will be sent to your selves by the ACCA at the time of registration.

Candidates following the Professional entry route are allowed to sit a maximum of four papers in their first examinations.

Exemptions

Exemptions from different modules may be granted by the ACCA. Exemption procedure is entirely at the discretion of the Association and the College has no part to play in the decision. It is strongly recommended that the students apply for the exemptions at the time of registering with the ACCA.

Degree holders from overseas such as India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka generally DO NOT qualify for any exemptions.

U.K degree holders may get exempted from some of the part 1 adn part 2 modules of the professional ACCA course

Registration deadlines

In order to appear in the paper based exams with the ACCA the registration deadlines must be met.

Please note that in order to sit the June examinations the student must apply for registration before 31st of December the following year and to sit December examinations the registration deadline is 31st August same year

However students opting for CBE exams do not need to follow the above dead lines, please remember CBE option currently applies to paper 1.1 and 1.2 (ACCA) and papers 1-4 (CAT). (Read notes on CBE)

Examination dates

The ACCA external paper- based examinations are held in June and December each year. The final date to send in your exam entry is 15th April for June examinations and 15th October December examinations.
