Description of the Course

· Do you need the qualifications to get started?

An Access course can open the door to Higher Education. Our Access course can provide you with the knowledge and skills you need for a Diploma/Degree in Nursing or a Degree in Social Science, Social Work or Primary Education.We now offer specific pathways to Social Work & Health Studies. Therefore if you want to be a Social Worker for example you will study areas associated :-

· Social Policy
· Equality & Diversity etc
· The Access Diploma is flexible enough to allow you to study for any area within Health Care at University.
· Maximum 4 days per week to fit in with school hours.
· The course is built around a Health/Social Care Studies module designed specifically for Health care Science

· Sociology
· Social Policy
· At Level 2 you will study

· ICT
· Study Skills
· You will be able to use your own experience to enrich your studies and increase your knowledge.

Entry requirements
A good level of English & Maths is necessary. You may also be asked to demonstrate your commitment and skills in an interview. If you dont have the required entry qualifications there will be an opportunity for you to demonstrate your abilities to undertake the course.You will also be required to undertake a diagnostic test to ascertain your academic level
