Access to HE Art & Design - Full Time

Who is this course for?
People who have a real interest in Art or Design and would like to go on to study an Art or Design subject at degree level. Access courses are the recognised route for Adult students to enter Higher Education.

What previous knowledge/experience are required?
You don't need any formal qualifications. However some experience and evidence of creative visual work in Art Craft or Design at roughly Level 2 (GCSE Level) would obviously be helpful. The qualification levels of Access students range from zero to PHDs but all of them share a real involvement in creative Art, Design or Craft work and the desire to progress.

What is the level of the course?
The Access to Art and Design Course is a level 3 course(Higher Education entry Level).

What will the course cover and what can I expect to do by the end of it?
This is a very exciting course that encompasses a wide range of skills and knowledge. What teaching and learning methods will be used on the course?
Practical classes, seminars, group crits, tutorials, creative project work, digital support & lectures with smartboard.

How will we assess your progress on the course?
Actually it's you who will do the initial assessment and then you will discuss your decisions with your fellow students and staff as part of an overall review of each element of the course.

What type of qualification will passing this course give me?
It leads to the National Open College Access Diploma. This is an entry qualification to Degree courses that is recognised throughout the country. (see below)

What extra study/practice do we expect you to do outside the class?
A serious commitment is required beyond class times and set work in order to achieve.

What can I do after completing this course?
