Access courses are nationally recognised Level 3 qualifications, which are validated by the awarding body OCNLR (The Open Network College London Region). This course requires the successful completion of 45 Level 3 credits and 15 Level 2 or 3 credits. The Access Diploma is awarded at a Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Course programme
This is an alternative route for mature students aged 19+, who want to progress to University to study Social Work, Nursing, Midwifery or equivalent, but may have left school early or been out of education for a number of a years. This course is designed to give students the opportunity to develop academic skills, confidence and knowledge before applying to university.
The modules to be studied on this programme include:
- Essay Writing
- Examination Skills
- Study Skills including in Maths and English
- Integrated Science including: Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Sociology
- Health, Nutrition and Psychology including; Health and Care Professions, Macronutrients, Theories of Health and Illness, NHS and many other core modules.
