Study Method:
There are various types of study, including group talks and discussion groups, project work, assignments, tests and home-based learning. A teaching placement must be taken up in order to satisfy the criteria for universities.
Individual advisory support is provided by a personal tutor throughout the course especially during the UCAS process.
Duration :36 weeks.
14 hours per week
Who the Course is For:
This course is for students who wish to develop the skills and competences necessary for accessing opportunities in Higher Education (Teaching). This course includes a placement within a school which is arranged by the student. It will prepare students for degree courses offering qualified teacher status at universities or colleges of H.E., as well as degrees in other related areas.
Assessment:
Assessment is continuous throughout the year. Students will complete essays, projects, practical assignments as well as tests and examinations.
All units are graded as a pass, merit or distinction and students must obtain at least 60 credits of which 45 must be at level 3.
Course Leads To:
This will be a nationally validated OCN Access course satisfying the entry requirements for progression to higher education colleges and universities.
