3. Entry requirements Applicants must show a level of independence and life experience since leaving full-time compulsory education when they commence study and should possess at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or some equivalents. GCSEs must include Science x 2, Maths and English (BTEC Level 2 Applied Science is also accepted instead of GCSEs) . Proof of existing qualifications is required before a place can be offered. Applicants will be given a written assessment task and will be interviewed. Factors considered during the interview include academic potential, motivation, relevant experience, plus organisational and communication skills. You will need to demonstrate that you can study successfully at a level equivalent to A-Level and have good literacy and number skills. It is preferable that you have some IT skills, but you will be given an opportunity to acquire these. In addition to lesson time, you will be expected to complete about 16 hours of independent study per week.
