Who is this course for? The Access programme has been developed for adults who wish to return to education and eventually study for a university degree, change their career or study for general interest.

Previous knowledge required: No formal qualifications are required to enrol on the course, only a commitment to study and motivation to succeed. Acceptance onto the programme is by satisfactory interview and the outcome of initial guidance.

What will I study? The programme has been designed to develop students' confidence and self-esteem in order to enable them to become self directed and independent learners. Students at Brecon will study Core Subjects including; Communications and Study Skills, Numeracy and Information Technology. Students will also choose five options from the following list: Health Studies, History, English Literature, Sociology and Psychology. Each subject is broken down into units of study lasting for between 5 and 15 weeks.
