Entry Requirements: The potential and desire to develop It is recommended that students have English and Maths GCSEs at Grade C or above. (These may be essential for university entrance, sometimes at the point of university application. You can study English and Maths alongside the Access course, but you will need to check what your destination university expects from you.) No other formal Level 2 qualifications as it is recognised that your life skills and experiences will have supplemented your qualification profile

Course programme
This course is specifically designed for mature students (19+) with life skills but few or no formal qualifications
There are three pathways on this access course: Health Science Professions, Humanities and Social Sciences, Education Professions.
- The qualification enables entry onto degree level study. Many adults have the potential and ability to study for a degree or professional qualification but have been unable to do so because their education was disrupted due to family, financial, social or personal circumstances
- Refreshes study skills and knowledge to prepare for study at degree level
- Support and guidance throughout the UCAS application process so that when you have completed the course you may move straight onto your chosen degree
- Skills and knowledge to gain entry onto a degree programme at a university of your choice or here at Craven College
- English and Maths skills will continue to be developed throughout the course
- Classroom and or laboratory based depending on subjects chosen to study
- One to one support from a personal tutor
- Well-equipped classrooms with modern technology
- Science laboratories
- A virtual learning environment (VLE) for keeping in contact from home
- Learning resource centre (LRC)
