Course programme


Access to Higher Education (for students aged 19+)
A 1 year full-time course or available as a part-time course over 2 years
Duration The full-time course can be completed in one year. It is also available on a part-time basis allowing you to study over two years.
A full time student will typically attend for a maximum of 4 days per week. Courses are run from 9.00am until 3.00pm.

Course overview
The Access programme is for mature learners who want to progress to Higher Education. You don†t need any previous qualifications but entry is subject to interview. With Access we aim to develop your personal confidence and achievement, your ability to study, and help you decide your future. The programmes include a range of different pathways including, Access to Teaching, Social Work, Nursing, Combined Studies, Counselling and Humanities and Social Sciences.

Assessment
You will be assessed through a combination of coursework and examination. As you progress through the course you will accumulate credits towards the Access to HE certificate. The number and combination of credits depends on which pathway you are following.
