What is the Access to HE Diploma course? Access courses are a Level 3 programme of study and are designed to prepare students for study at university. They are aimed at people who would like to study at university but who left school without the usual qualifications, such as 'A' levels. Many Access to HE Diploma students go on to succeed at university and beyond, with a large number of learners.

About this course

There are no formal entry qualifications required but the course is academically rigorous and students are required to undertake an initial literacy and numeracy assessment to ensure their suitability for studying at this level.

What is the Access to HE Diploma course?

Access courses are a Level 3 programme of study and are designed to prepare students for study at university. They are aimed at people who would like to study at university but who left school without the usual qualifications, such as 'A' levels. Many Access to HE Diploma students go on to succeed at university and beyond, with a large number of learners pursuing new careers in a variety of directions.

How Long?

At the moment, the Access course is offered on a full-time basis only (which amounts to approximately 15 hours per week). However, due to recent changes regarding university admissions, there is a possibility of a part-time programme being on offer.

Enrolment Method
If you are interested in a place on the Access course, complete an application form and return it to the College. You will be contacted soon and invited to attend an interview. You will be asked to sit an initial assessment in Literacy and Numeracy and, following assessment, the results will be discussed with you. If you are suitable for a place on the course you will be invited back to discuss an appropriate timetable of study tailored to your chosen pathway.
