Course overview Would you like to embark on a career in teaching? Do you enjoy working with people and helping them to progress their educational aspirations and goals? Are you motivational, organised, able to think creatively and enjoy the prospect of working and inspiring students in a teaching environment. Do you want to study teaching at a university level? If the answer is yes, then our Access to Higher Education Diploma (Education) could be the perfect route for you. You will learn about the psychology of teaching and learning, classroom management and organisation and how to help develop learning with and for learners across a range of subject specialisms. Our Access to Higher Education course will give you the essential knowledge needed to succeed in higher education and progress your future teaching career and includes study techniques and IT skills. Please note, this course in new for September 2016 and is subject to demand. Entry requirements We welcome applications from anyone who wishes to move into higher education, regardless of age. You must have either GCSE English Language/English or GCSE maths at C grade or above. If you do not have these you will be asked to complete diagnostic tests lasting up to two hours to enable us to consider your suitability for our Access to Higher Education (Foundation) course which focuses precisely on the development of maths, English, IT and study skills to enable you to successfully complete an access course. You will also be asked to attend an interview where you will have the opportunity to discuss your options and decide on the most suitable course.
