Introduction Course Outcome:
Participants will understand the design principles of an Access database.
Have designed and created a multi-table database; Participants are encouraged to bring their own databases or proposals to work on during the second half of the day.
Key Objectives To understand relational database design and functionality; be able to design and test a customised database without the use of Wizards.
Course Units
· Create a multi table databases
· The importance of the Primary Key
· Linking tables with one to one and one to Many relationships;
· Using the Relationship Window
· Creating: Tables, Forms, Queries, Reports without using Wizards and templates
· Form Design Controls. Creating select queries from multiple tables
· Calculate controls in Queries
· Using MailMerge from Access
· Formatting Forms and Reports
· Create sub-forms and sub-reports
