There are optional modules, these include Networking, Programming and Information Society. In addition the tutorial programme encompasses study skills, interview technique, debating.

About this course
Applicants should have suitable communication, numeracy and IT skills. They should demonstrate a willingness to develop these further. Some applicants may join in September if they meet specific criteria. The course tutor will give further details. Students will normally be asked to attend an interview and Key Skills evaluation.

Study Method:
The various types of study including: Class meetings, discussion groups, project work, assignments and open (home-based) learning. Individual advisory support is an integral part of this course. For success good attendance is required.
Duration :One Year - 4 days per week (10am-4pm)
Who the Course is For:
This course prepares mature students (over 19 years of age) who do not have the necessary qualifications to enter Higher Education but have a knowledge of Information Technology. It is a major step towards studying for a degree or professional qualification, for example, at the University of East London or any other University.
Assessment:
Assessment is continous throughout the year to enable a profile of competence to be produced. Students career interests, strengths and weaknesses are analysed in the first term. Appropriate end tests may be given. Tutorial counselling sessions also help to assess students abilities.
Course Leads To:
Successful students will be able to progress to a range of Higher Education courses in Universities.

Individual counselling contribution of visiting lecturers are an integral part of the course.
