What you need to know
How will I study?

The AS year aims to teach the fundamentals of accounting. It is based on understanding the double entry system and learning how to prepare financial reports for sole-traders and limited companies. You will also look at the concepts guiding the preparation of these reports. In your second year, you will go on to look at the financial reports in greater detail as well as looking at what happens within an industrial setting, looking at how managers interpret financial statements to make costing and pricing decisions.
How will I be taught?

Teaching methods include explanation of accounting techniques followed by practical examples and case studies. Students will also be encouraged to utilise the interactive learning resources available to confirm and facilitate learning.
How will I be assessed?

Class exercises and the use of past examination questions during the term to prepare for the final exams in the summer.
