What is it?


AAT Accounting qualifications are designed to provide learners with the relevant learning and skills to undertake a range of Accounting and Finance related jobs.

AAT qualifications can lead to professional membership of the AAT and exemption from the first stage of all the UKs Chartered Accountancy bodies (CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA, ICAS and ACCA), as well as the first year of many university degrees.

The AAT is the worlds leading professional membership body for Accounting Technicians. Accounting Technicians work at all levels from Accounts Clerks to Financial Controllers in all industries and sectors.

AAT qualifications are highly respected by employers and AAT qualified staff attract much higher salaries than those unqualified.

What skills do I need?

An ability to think logically and use numbers.

How will I learn?

You will complete exercises and Skills Tests to determine your level of competence in a series of work related tasks and simulations.

Will there be coursework?

You will be required to produce a Portfolio of your work to reflect your competence in the range of skills identified. You will also take examinations to confirm your understanding of accounting principles.

How much practical work is there?

The Skills Tests will represent real working scenarios.
