The apprenticeship framework is made up of the following mandatory qualifications

- AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

The AAT Diploma is a classroom based day release programme, which runs from September to July.

Start date -  Candidates may start the programme throughout the year, depending on employment, however AAT classes currently run from September to July. Programme length will depend on start date.

Module tests and exams.

What is the entry process?

Your application will be sent to the employer, so make sure you list all your qualifications and any work experience. Proof read your application and make sure you have fully answered any questions. Poor spelling and grammar and insufficient answers are the main reasons applications are unsuccessful. The employer will shortlist the applicants and will invite the chosen candidates for interview before selecting a successful applicant for the position.

What are the entry requirements?

Minimum qualifications: Full level 2

AAT Level 2 Diploma in Accounting
5 GCSE passes at C or above including English & Maths
Full time employment in a suitable position

Key Skills Level 2 Communications / Application of Number or Functional Skills level 2 in English & Maths may be substituted for GCSE C grades. If it is more than 5 years since you took your GCSEs, you will be required to complete Functional Skills in English & Maths.

What else do I need to know?

Fees for  24+  APPRENTICES will be £1998

Apprenticeships are full time jobs which include a programme of training in a specific functional area. In addition to the minimum entry qualifications, employers are looking for candidates who are keen and willing to learn on the job as well as completing the framework of qualifications.

Apprentice job vacancies are advertised via the National Apprenticeship Service. To apply for apprentice vacancies, go to www.apprenticeships.org.uk and follow the links to register with the Apprentice Vacancy Matching Service. Vacancies are listed by subject and by location.

Programme length Minimum 12 months, up to 18 months

You must be employed full time in a suitable position before commencing the programme
– see Additional Information below. College attendance dates to be confirmed at sign up

If you have not already completed the AAT level 2 Certificate, you should have a minimum of 12 months experience in a relevant job role and complete an aptitude test to assess your suitability to start the programme at level 3.

Progression
On successful completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship programme and subject to the work role supporting evidence at a higher level, apprentices will be given advice and guidance about opportunities for further study. Progression to a Higher Apprenticeship is possible if the job role is suitable.
